Afterall, Ottawa is just a small city. I may recommend Kanata to you as it's the hi-tech region in Ottawa, where many hi-tech companies scatter around. Well, if you wanna choose a place closer to the downtown, I would recommend west end of Ottawa, Baseline/Woodroffe, Bayshore, Carlingwood or Lincoln Field(Heights), which are all within convenient distance to shopping mall or complex.
