Intermediate Web Developer - OTTAWA
Chipworks is the premiere source of knowledge of what’s inside technology through creative investigation and analysis. We are currently seeking an Intermediate Web Developer, reporting to the Senior Programmer/Analyst. The primary function of this position is to support the implementation of Chipworks’ IS Business Strategy developing, supporting and implementing current and future web-based applications. Your primary responsibilities will include:
Understand client’s technical requirements and communicate these requirements to Engineering in order to properly scope and quote projects.
Web site maintenance and development; receiving content from various groups within the company; quick identification and resolution of issues; generation of website metrics
Participate in design decisions concerning Chipworks’ websites; make recommendations for improvements in website workflow; meet with internal clients to establish website needs and expectations
Participate in the evaluation of new technologies for immediate and future use. Examples include but are not limited to: content management systems, wireless technology and new or changing programming frameworks and methodologies;
Continually learn new technologies and technological advancements and continually refine and improve existing technology skills in order to maximize development and application efficiency; maintain an awareness of computer industry and technology developments and their relevance to existing and planned application development and maintenance
The successful candidate has a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of four years of web development experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education. A thorough knowledge of HTML/XHTML and CSS, along with excellent communication skills is required. Ideally, your experience includes Macromedia Flash development, WebeEx webinars, writing for the web and usability testing. Experience in JavaScript HTML Transact-SQL, ASP .Net VB.Net is required along with CSS .Net Framework Web Development.
