[问题] New home warranty

Anybody has experience on dealing with Tarion (Formerly Ontario New Home Warranty Program)?

I recentky found a problem with the house. After getting my claim, Tarion said they'd send a representative to check the problem. My question is: how could they ensure the independency of the inspection? After all, if the problem is covered by the warranty, Tarion has to pay for the fix.

Same as any other warranty. Do you worry about warranties on your car? Your new TV?
Don't worry, sometimes you have to believe.

I think you are over concerned...for its reputation, Tarion will follow the building code and pay if it is the problem...aslo you may hire an inspector to make sure the defects you found should be covered by the warranty...

Under most of the situation the builder will fix the problem. The bill goes to TARION only if

1) the builder is out of the business, or
2) the builder fails to solve the problem within a given time frame, TARION will get somebody to fix the problem than charge the cost (plus admin) to the builder.
