You'd better open the box and check the bottle if you buy ice wine in box in Vancouver. I found a cheating box from a two-box package in an Asian running store in Vancouver airport. It was obviously cheaper. It was hard to find out from the weight because they filled stuff in the box. I occasionally opened one box and found out their cheating. I would suggest buying it at a LCBO of Ottawa if you are going to share it with your family. You have more brands and products to choose. You will find obvious different tastes from different products with different prices.
That's because the tax has been added to the price of the wine in LCBO.
Same as gas price, today's proce is 82.9cents/litre, that price already has taxes included.
The wine price in duty free shop does not include any tax. So you are saving at least 15%, mabe even more.
Why more? Because the 15% is only GST and PST. There might be other taxes charged to the liquor in LCBO that we do not know about, such as importation tax, liquor consumption tax, etc.
