You can even get your child's Birth Certificate before you get the mail letter of The Notice of Birth: Call 1-800-461-2156 to enquire if they have input your child's birth information into their computer, once they do so, you can just download and print the Birth Certificate application form, finish it, and go to 61 Elgin Street 4th fl (Ottawa's Land Registry Office, tel:239-1230) for same-day service.

2. Does it mean that the City Hall is sharing the information with Office of the Registrar Gereral?
So if City Hall has not input the information into computer, how can O of the R G get the necessary information? Once the City Hall has input the information, it means that you may receive the mail letter soon. Is my analysis all right?

臭臭,your friend's experience is not common. He may have some mistake on the application form such as the the delivery doc's name. I had such experience. Since I didn't know the delivery doc's name, I called the hospital and asked for the name. Then the notice of registration came around 60 days. (don't remember the excatly days.)
And I believe that the city hall has the same system with the registry office, because the registry office asked me show them the notice of registration and looked for the unique code for this registration. Then they can do the birth certification application for you right way.

Jane: According to what you said, we still need to wait for the notice of registration before we can apply for the birth certifacate. But according to what Xiao Fan said, we do not need to want for the notice of registration to apply for the birth certifacate under some conditions. Have I correctly understood what Xiao Fan means?

I think the process and rough time schedule should be almost same, but case by case it have a little diffenence. Lately I will call City Hall and Register of General, to make distinguishability about tha, then I will bulletin the details.
