BTW, EF 50mm F/1.8 II is a lens you should have. It is almost a crime if you don't own one. it is so cheap and excellent. Do I own one? no, I don't, but I will, sooooon. :-D

This is a discontinued lens and there is occasional for sale ads on internet.
To original poster: Not sure what is your main subject of interest, but what I can think of:
1. 50/1.8 or 50/1.4 -- must have
2. 85/1.8 (85/1.2L if money is not the subject (MISTS), 100/2 or 100/2.8 Macro, 135/2.8 soft focus (or 135/2L if MISTS) for portraits
3. 200/2.8, 300/4 (IS or Non-IS), 400/5.6, etc. for wild life;
4. Wide angle: this is canon's weak point. 35/1.4L is excellent but not so wide on 1.6x camera. You may want to look into lens from other brand, e.g., Sigma 20/1.8, Carl Zeiss lens (can be quite expensive and need manual focusing).
