Usually when engine light is on, it means there is some problem with your engine.
What we usually do(formal trouble shoot process) is use ODBII tool to get the engine error code to see what is the problem. It save you a lot of time. And you never guess because you could make a wrong guess, money is spent but problem still exist(spend un-necessary money).
For this kind of problem, best bring your car back to your car dealer such as if you have honda, bring it back to honda dealer who is specialize on honda.
A lot of other garage they don't have all the information/details for the error code.
I mean error code only tell you the general problem(an problem area) title but not in deep what/where is the problem. The dealer people see this car and fix this problem all the time, so they will be much more knowledgeable to fix this kind of matter.
