Questions about 移民申请?Thanks!

I have a question for anyone who had the similar experience before! Thank you in advance!

I did my medical check on January 24, 2005 and was asked to pay for the landing fee at the same time. It has been nearly seven months and I haven't got any further information from Buffalo CIC. Is it normal?

Due to my work, I might travel a lot in September. I really don't know when I could get my immigration paper done. It's annoying indeed!

I really appreciate if anyone can give me a hint to my case! Thanks a lot!

Be patient and wait. 6-8 months is normal, unless you have government background which might makes your background check complicated.

Is military school counted?

Thank you for reminding the background check issue.

I was a drop-out from a military institue! Of course, it wasn't my choice at the first place and it didn't cause any trouble for my student visa and work visa application in the past.

I got my medical check notice 4 months after I submitted my immigration application form, I wonder whether this could be a reason that I have to wait much longer late on?

I applied in Buffalo.

I had 2 employers' reference letters amd 1 job offer by the time I sent my application. All of them are from Ottawa-based firms. I guess this might be helpful!

In my application, I didn't hide my 2-year study in the chinese military institue. I wrote a self-description and addressed the only reason I dropped out from the school was to study in Canada.

According to my understanding of current IMM law, CIC has to accept or reject my Skilled Worker immigration application within 12 months since the medical check result is only good for a year. Am I right?

Anyway, I called, emailed and talked with CIC Buffalo agents in the last 2 weeks, no results! no comments! Everything is perfect normal and my case is in the regular process! However, I can't go to San Diego for a conference, I am stuck here!

唯一的办法就是等！你肯定是在被作背景调查。CIC没有规定必须在体检后一年内作出批准还是拒绝的决定。我是体检后差不多1年半才拿到Landing paper的。我曾经找过国会议员帮忙问申请状态，国会议员听了我的情况后，开始信心满满说可以加速我的申请。但和CIC联系后，说在作背景调查，唯一的办法就是等！
你现在最好把这件事忘了，该干什么干什么。不知道哪天就会来了。

我认识个人，就是军校呆过，查了半天，最后还是给拒了，后来他家又申请了第2次， 又给他批了。

I guess I just apply for a multi-entry visa now. I will keep you guys posted if there is anything new coming!

Somehow, I secretly wish I'll get rejected soon so that I could go to the court and solve the problem once for all in a quick & fashion way! It's way better than waiting!

I hope you are joking. The court takes much longer and skilled worker cases can not be appealed any more. It is called something like apply for a "leave" - whatever. And you have to get a lawyer for that and it costs money. In short, just be patient. You are much luckier than most applicants already because you got medical so soon.

I contacted MP and filed a request for my imm status. I will let you know what happens after.

If MP and his assistants are helpful in my kind of cases, anyone who is in my situation could give it a try.

MP will probabaly come back with BCHK undergoing kinda statement. :blink:

BTW, why don't you order CAIPS notes to see the progress yourself?

I think CAIPTS notes will also "come back with BCHK undergoing kinda statement".

I got the answer from MP office, it works!

I was told the detail information about my immigration process last Tuesday. Information include when my application was received, when CIC started working on my project, what's their concerns, what kinds of documents they are waiting for and when I might get my answer.

It works well for me! At least, I am not worrying about this issue anymore. Everything is so far so good, I guess I just need to learn patience.

So, I recommand people who are in my situation, give it a try! It might be better than checking around cluelessly.
