Graphics software maker Adobe Systems is cutting another seven per cent of it workforce, about 260 jobs, with some of the cuts coming in Ottawa.
The announcement confirms the extent of job cuts first disclosed by a U.S. regulatory filing made last week.

The California-based company said some of the cuts are occuring at the the operations of the former Accelio in Ottawa, but would not provide specific figures.

The cuts would follow the loss of 100 Ottawa jobs six months ago when the company integrated the operations of Accelio Corp. About 100 hundred Accelio staff were cut from other locations at the same time. The local workforce stands at about 290.

Spokeswoman Holly Campbell said the cuts come as the company refocuses on its strongest businesses, such as its Acrobat software.

Adobe expects to incur US$10 million to $14 million in restructuring charges stemming from job cuts in the current quarter, according to the U.S. regulatory filing.

Adobe's flagship graphics software, PhotoShop, has suffered from slumping sales in recent quarters. In the third quarter ended in August, the company said sales of the software fell to $118.2 million from $125.5 million in the same quarter a year ago.
