请问HBC的Gift Card有何用？

HBC已经有Rewards积分卡，购物卡（相当于信用卡），请问这个gift card究竟有何用，用这个卡有什么优惠？

Have you got a gift card from anyone? Or are you going to buy one for someone?

Gift cards from stores are paid for. They are then given away as gifts to loved ones (may not be true, though), as the name suggests. They are then used as cash. No any 优惠.

这卡是上司赠送俺的，由于当时很忙上司没有时间解释这个卡的用途，只好自己琢磨了。这个卡背面是这么说的这个卡相当于现金。但卡的包装纸上有这么一句话“see cashier to load gift card. 5$ minimum”俺的理解是，也许上司事先已经把钱打入卡中? 也许是个空卡？必须先到cashier把钱打入卡上，然后才能购物？俺的理解不知道对不对？

use this gift card for your purchases made in La Bay or Zeller's. You should be able to use this as good as cash. If your purchase is smaller than what the gift card is worth, you will have balance stored in the gift card for your future purchase (but normally the purchase will have to be done within a year, check the restrictions); if your purchase is greater than the worth of the gift card, you will have to pay the differnce. In short, your boss has already put the money in that card and you can use it now. Go to the La Bay's check out counter and ask them to check how much balance is in the card.

$5 minimum means if you want to buy a gift card and give it to somebody esle, the minumium you have to put in the card is 5$. You do not have to worry about this.
