Does anyone know about RESP? Some people can buy $4000 / year, kid, but some not. Which bank or broker is better to buy from?

银行和投资公司都可以买RESP,其他还有Canada Scholarship Trust Plan 等,每年可以买的金额与开户时的年收入有关,但每个孩子每年能获得的政府补助最多400元. 你若有其他问题可以给我来电话,613-523-4450.

RESP is a great plan for your kid.....yes, your income does come into play......but the whole idea I belive is to maximze your government "grant"rather than the amount of contribution, I don't think you can write off the $$ contributed to the plan (I might be wrong)......and I was told that gov't just bumped up the amount of the grant for lower income parents....shoudl definally look into that

group, family, individual都是指受益人,group plan 的受益人是所有参加plan 的孩子(可能有几十万个小孩),family plan 的受益人可以是参加plan 的家庭的所有孩子,individual plan 的受益人为参加plan时指定的小孩(唯一).
