degree is worldwide acceptance.
certificate is usually 2-5 courses, concentrate on 1 topic
diploma is close to a degree but accept in local city/province/country (maybe other country)

在大学或college 获得学位叫 degree
一般college 3年课程毕业拿到 diploma 也就是国内的专科文凭
certificate 一般就是一个证明书，证明你学过那个课程，不能算学位。
