Hi,

I have one cute cat (American shorthair) to give away. He is black male, about 2 years old and is neutered and declawed, which is great on furnitures.

He is very sociable, friendly, affectionate and good with strangers and kids...When he is in the mood to be picked up he will ask.

He knows his name and is a bright boy. He is healthy, litter trained, and fixed. He needs a home that can offer more playtime then what I can.

If you are interested, please contact me @ 733-8931 (message) and he deserves a really nice lifetime home.

非常安静,从来不咬东西,跟人很亲,除了有点掉毛之外非常健康,因为个人原因,现在免费送给好心和有耐心的热照顾.

Thanks for the concern, it happened a while ago and done by professional vet....and it's only the front paws so that whoever will take care of him won't worry about their furnitures be scratched...And, after all, he's a happy boy!

黑猫好,黑猫好,我太喜欢黑猫了,太通人性了

Anyone want to raise him?

Declawing is not good for cats. The following is what CFA says regarding scratching:

"Animal behaviorists currently believe that the main function of scratching for the cat is communication. It is natural, instinctual behavior. Scratching involves not only leaving a visual mark but it is an attention getting, happiness display. Ideally the cat should be encouraged in this behavior..."

Hi,

Thanks for directing me to the CFA site...

And, quite interesting, I found an article titled "Cat scrach disease" from the same site as follows:

"Typically, a small skin lesion (resembling an insect bite) develops at the site of a cat scratch or (less commonly) a bite, followed within two weeks by swollen lymph nodes and sometimes a fever. The illness is mild and self-limiting in the majority of patients, although it may take some months for the swollen lymph nodes to return to normal. Treatment is usually not required. Reports over the last few years, however, have extended the spectrum of problems associated with CSD to include such things as tonsillitis, encephalitis, hepatitis, pneumonia and other serious illnesses in a very small number of cases. People with compromised immune systems, such as AIDS and cancer patients, are most at risk and can become most seriously ill."

At a minimum, I believe it's better not risk human's life rather than encouraging animals' attention catching behaviours. One way or the other, they have other ways to catch the owner's attention besides scratching...

Thanks anyway for the info.
