you need to go to the office and show them the original, or you have to mail them the original. They don't take photocopies.

If you go to the office, you will get the SIN on the fly. The actual card takes 4-8 weeks to be mailed to you.

if you are international student, just bring 3 original paper:

---- passport
----study permit
----letter of job offer or letter of funding( i do not know what is that)
