最近有家公司来我们租的房子推广他们的供电合同，说安省将可能在近期上涨电费。他们公司的供电计划比直接从市面买的便宜。这是怎么回事啊，是真事吗？大家都是怎么解决的？

About Energy retailer

The company that you mentioned must be an electricity retailer. To decide whether it is a save for you to sign a contact or not, you have to compare only one component-electricity charge. If you search Hydro Ottawa's website on Residential rates (https://www.hydroottawa.com/residential/index.cfm?lang=e&template_id=118), you will find the following components on your each bill:

Residential Customer Rates

Electricity Charge*
• Consumption up to 750 kWh per month $0.0500/kWh
• Consumption above the 750 kWh per month threshold
$0.0580/kWh

Delivery Charge
• Transmission
$0.0107/kWh
• Hydro Ottawa Delivery
$0.0171/kWh
• Hydro Ottawa Fixed Charge
$5.98 per month

Regulatory Charge $0.0062/kWh**
Debt Retirement Charge $0.00694/kWh***

If you sign contract with a retalier, you still have to pay the same Delivery, Regulatory and Debt Retirement charges. However, they will offer you different deal on Electricity Charge which you need to compare to.
