Ecologist position
Job Description:
SpatialSmart is a spatial technology company specializing in remote sensing and GIS applications to ecological conservation, environment monitoring, natural resources management and urban planning. We are looking for a junior or senior ecologist to carry out following tasks,
• Completing a literature review, analysis and synthesis of biodiversity standards by watershed for the assessment of biodiversity and ecological integrity
• Constructing database with Microsoft Acess
• Identification sensitive biological resources.
• Identification habitats for species at risk.
• Providing recommendations for the protection of sensitive or important biological resources.
• Providing recommendations for the utility of findings to the development of biodiversity standards in agricultural regions.
• Preparing scientific reports that document the results of studies
Required Skills:
• M.S., or Ph.D, in ecology, biology, wildlife management, or related discipline
• Habitat survey experience
• Extensive research experience in biodiversity and ecological conservation
• Experience with GIS applications
• Strong computer skills
• Outstanding writing, editing, and communication skills
• Speak French fluently.
