CLIENT INFORMATION

Our Client designs and develops Network Management Systems (NMS) and Operational Support Systems (OSS) geared to meet the Service Fulfilment and Service Assurance needs of telecommunications service providers. They are currently working with more than 100 telecommunications service providers from North/South America, Europe, Asia, Hong Kong, Australia and Israel. The product is an open, modular, scalable system that enables operators to manage the entire service lifecycle by providing the full range of management functionality, including Fault, Performance, Configuration, Provisioning, Accounting, Security and SLA Management, as well as CDR analysis tools. With this product,, service providers can monitor and control some of the most complex, heterogeneous networks ever created, whether wire-line, wireless, IP/Broadband or SS7.

The company was founded in 1988 and listed in Nasdaq in 1996. Global employees currently stands at 600 and revenue at US$ 80 million.


POSITION TITLE: Sales Director ? Greater China (based in Hong Kong)


REPORTING TO: Managing Director APC


GEOGRAPHICAL COVERAGE; Focus on but not limited to Hong Kong, Taiwan and China.


JOB PURPOSE;
To lead all the sales related activities in the account or a cluster of accounts. Ensures that he/she is bringing value to the Customer business; makes sure that the sales strategy is prepared, communicated and executed (externally and internally) and carries the sales responsibility of the assigned account(s) in the territory.


KEY TASKS;
. Management of sales activities in the account/accounts
・ Creation of sales strategy and execution of it
・ Prioritizations of resources and sales opportunities within the region
・ Planning and implementing effective resourcing of the projects together with PM
and CS team using dedicated and shared resources
・ Run the sales cases with the team by empowering, coaching and monitoring the operation
・ Contract negotiation, closing and handover to the delivery process
・ Short term and strategic planning, LE management, action planning and long range planning
・ Create and implement the Account and Opportunity Plans
・ Takes care of the sales and demand planning

Customer Relationships Management
・ Responsibility for Relationship Management and Customer intimacy with the buyer and influencer
levels in the customer organisation.
・ Development and continuous improvement of the sales process
・ Customer satisfaction regarding sales process

People Management (at a later stage)
. Ability to build a sales team to handle the accounts in the region
・ Support and coach the team to reach the sales targets
・ Line management responsibility, development planning for the sales team
・ Continuous improvement of the team motivation
・ Competency Development of the team together with Marketing and Development
・ Co-operation with area Sales owners and mentors for people and competency management and
development


SKILLS &
COMPENTENCIES;

Hands-on, multi-tasking
Direct Solution and value based selling skill
Strong technical telecommunications background (ideally a specialist in either Wireless, VoIP, or Wireline).
Experience in SW projects selling in the telecom/IT market
Strong connection with Carriers in Asia especially in Hong Kong, Taiwan and China
Understanding of Carrier business and company’s own strategies
Ability to build and nurture relationships
Past project management skill is preferred
Financial understanding
Good negotiator and marketer
Ability to lead and manage teams
Blue sky thinking and problem solving attitude
Bilingual in English and Mandarin
Computer literate
“One Man” show who knows to execute the sales cycle by himself
Experience of more than 7 years selling in Chinese markets
Experience in opening tough markets and penetrating the Chinese markets

local NMS makers all broke. it's icing on the cake.

A good way to sell is bundle it with equipment sales. Now even equipment is hard to sell not to say NMS stuff.
 
说的是,NMS/OSS这种锦上添花的东西,不好卖.

在国内做过一个小型OSS,就是把数据库的工单倒腾下来,自动为程控交换机用户开新业务,中国电信的老大们说:找一帮会打字的小姑娘手工敲进去,反正每个月的工资没几个钱,中国人多,不用太自动化.

在OTTAWA的小狗P开始还傍着NORTEL这个大款,现在也歇菜了.
