I have done the opposite (China to Canada). altogether about 5 boxes of books. The size of the box is same as the printing paper box. mailed by surface, cost about $1,000 RMB.

it seems you did by mail through post office, not by professional cargo company. So you do not have to do the custom check-out by yourself. You just picked the stuff up at the post office, right?

Here in CANADA, i also can do that by the post office, but it is too expensive. For one box of printing paper size, it cost about CAN$150. If you do that thorugh cargo company, it cost just ~CAD$280 for cubic meter(m3). But you have to check out the stuff by yourself. I heard that it is very complicated and probably have to pay more money. I want to know if it is true. Thanks,

I do not know for sure what needs to be done before your books can be released at the Chinese customs. Check with some of the big-name moving companies and they may have a better idea, although I seriously doubt that it would be a lot more complicated than filling in an custom form stating what is inside of the package (I had to do that also with the postal service); after all, we are talking about shipping books cross the borders and because of that, I do not think it would be a big problem however you ship them. cheers.

no. the book cases were delivered to my door steps.

You are right.

I just asked the post office about this Q. A 20- kilogram package will cost around 180 Dollars. TOO EXPENSIVE~~~~:flaming:

wow
