过去也有人在这儿问过这个问题。当时见大家都说好话，我就说了几句坏话，主要是我那宝贝女儿曾complain道，we're living in the middle of nowhere.

怎么说呢，住了七年，也没觉得有什么不好。可要是再搬家，肯定会换个地方试试－－这儿有些boring，典型的bedroom community。

对了，怎么没看见小傻的高论？

Some paper says 500m, some paper says 200m...really don't know. But if I were you, I would not buy those houses too close to hydro lines..I am just afraid...

I found three problems with Bridlewood after we bought the house here Don't make me wrong, I still think it is a very good neighborhood..

1. Ontario Hydro Corridor.

2. A little bit far to reach the high way.

3. Lack of public facilities.

For 1 and 2, we had discussion here before. I want to say more about No.3.

Bridlewood and Emerald Meadows have tens of thousands of residents, and we have no public library, no swimming pool and no whatsoever in this community..I was told it was because this community was at the border of "old" Kanata and Nepean, so neither Kanata and Nepean paid more attention to this community before...Things are getting better, but still we need to fight...

I have a question about the hydro line: how close is too close? I am interested in a house at Bridlewood, which is about 400 meters away from the hydro line (direct distance according to google map). Would you consider this is safe distance?

我从前问过这个问题，大家都慷慨解“辞”过。最后由于工作地点的原因，没有买那里的房子（不知道跟基础墙说“we're living in the middle of nowhere”有没有关系，哈哈）。但是有些我认为比较重要的信息愿意分享，（其实也是大家说过的，呵呵）

1。学区不错，等孩子们到上学的年纪了估计还是要往那里考虑的。
2。社区活动少。
3。个别房子离高压线近，为了将来出售，还是不要考虑了。那段时间我们常常看房子的出售情况。那个地区的房子房型什么的都不错，但是价钱比其他地方的差不多的房子要便宜，在市场上时间不短也卖不出去，估计买房的人考虑的都是这个高压线的事。其中有套房子离高压线已经不近了（400米肯定是有的），还在安静的小路尽头，但是由于抬头还是能看见高压线（我们去看过），很长时间还挂着。

不知道跟基础墙说“we're living in the middle of nowhere”有没有关系，哈哈

罪过罪过，那是我女儿的comment。现在好些了，多了个公园，还有那个新开张的superstore也挺方便。不过对我女儿来说，还是middle of nowhere：没有什么她感兴趣的东西比如购物中心电影院什么的。

那高压线的事，当年附近的住户曾和hydro打过一阵官司，最后还是拿它没办法。按Ontario Hydro的说法，没事（见他们的网页），网上对这事也是说什么的都有（查查EMF，能找到一大堆说法）。

至于学校，我觉得和居民成分有很大关系。这儿住的人有很多是给政府和附近那些所谓高科技公司打工的。我们当年选中这里，最主要的因素有三：学校还算过得去、离我们两人上班的地方都挺近、还有就是周围居民成分比较简单一些。

The recently elementary school rating for the Ontario:

W. O. Mitchell, 7.3 out of 10, 634th in Ontario,
Bridlewood Community elementary school, 6 out of 10, the last one in Ontairo.

So, where the 学区不错 come from?

Elisabeth-Bruyere - 8.6
St Anne - 8.0
St James - 7.7

Stonehaven 上的这几所教会学校在渥太华排的都不错，都在第一列。。

W.O Mitchell 的7.3在中间一列里是第一个，就是Bridlewood Community也在中间一列，只不过比较偏后。。谁说是the last one in Ontairo？

只是不知道Roch Carrier为什末没跟着排？

The best school in Kanata is Katimavik, 9.9 out of 10, and there are lots schools in kanata got a score higher than 8 out of 10.
For a school with a score less than 8, I do not think it is a good school at all.

你这就抬杠了。

kanata （english-public)过8分的只有三所（katimavik, w.erskine johnston, stephen leacock),你那个lots schools in kanata got a score higher than 8 out of 10 从何而来？

纵观全市，过8分的也不过29所（多数还是教会学校）。就连mutchmor这样的glebe百年老校也才7.9，你能说not a good school at all?
