Looking for family hotel

I'll study in CU from this Sept. I'm looking for a family hotel to live about 2-3 weeks. We have a 5 years old boy. Is there any one know sth about family hotel in Ottawa?
Another question, If I want to rent an apartment in Ottawa, do I need a guarantee(I'm a graduate student)
