O-C Transpo buses will be on the roads Tuesday morning.
The Amalgamated Transit Union says drivers and mechanics will continue to report to work as long as talks continue.
The City of Ottawa and the union will resume negotiations in the morning.
Ottawa's Chief Negotiator Greg Geddes says the two sides are at the stage where a deal can be reached quickly.
Informal talks last week produced an agreement on the issue of contracting out maintenance jobs for the O-Train.
The Amalgamated Transit Union says commuters could have as little as eight hours strike notice if talks don't produce an agreement.
