I was planning to post this after tomorrow's funeral service. But reading the opinions on how to punish the killer(s?) and serve justice makes me to post it now.

Canada is ruled by law. The legal system is among the most developped and reputable in the world despite however imperfect it may be! Leave the issue of how to punish the killer(s?) and serve justice to the legal system. This is something that we really should not apply our old way of thinking. Learning how to respect the rule of law should form an important part of your studying goals here, in addition to your courses! If you want respect from others, you should show your respect for others! Please treat others the way you want to be treated --- think about these points long and hard, please! Cultural differences are respected in Canada but everyone is equal before existing laws! I urge you to learn, to adapt, to respect! I urge myself to do so constantly!

My home computer is borrowed from work that strictly enforces copy-right laws and as such, I can't install any unauthorized outside software. Secondly, even if I have Chinese software, my pin yin sucks. Typing a little Chinese note will take me a long time --- intorelateable torture! Sorry, I have to post in English. Shouldn't we all learn to use English in Canada publicly? Of course, it takes time. We live in an environment in which English and French are the two official languages. Using official languages reaches a lot furhter and wider --- OK, let me call this Reflection #2 then!

p.s. I write old-styled poetry in Chinese occasionally as a hobby but my day job requires me to use English. I am Canadian by citizenship but forever Chinese by blood.

Let me translate it into plain English:

I can NOT type Chinese on my computer. English is official language in Canada. Learning English is good for you. Don't take me wrong, I am still Chinese.

+++end of translation+++

Justice will be done!

According to existing laws in Canada (and many other countries), everyone (suspects included) is presumed innocent until the court proves and judges otherwise.
