Why my IP is 69.198.186.***?

I'm using rogers cable and share internet with my roomate by using router (D-link DI-604). Os is windowsxp sp1. Currently the firewall is turned off. Even I directly connect my computer to cable modem without router, it will give me the same IP address? Why and how to know my actually IP address assigned by ISP?

IP address: 69.198.186.***
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.1**
default gateway: 69.198.186.1
DHCP server: 24.153.**.**
DNS server: 24.153.22.** (different from DHCP)
24.153.23.**

这个ip没有什么好奇怪的呀
我记得，如果你直接的接入的话，有可能会和现在用router接入的地址不一样的。

PS：好夸张的子网掩码……这样弄，一个网段能有多少个地址啊……

Does external ip mean public IP? If not, how to find out my public IP (not from rogers tech support)? I remember before my ISP asigned IP starts with 24.***.***.***.

IP address: 69.198.186.*** <- this is your external ip, aka public ip

not all rogers cable users have ip that starts with 24.*.*.*
mine is starting with 72.*.*.*

normally your internal ip (which assigned by your router) starts with 192.168.*.*

Yes. And after reset my router and restart cable modem, the ip changed to 72.57.***.***. Is the ip a dynamic ip?

I think so. When you do a router reset/renew, you may be connecting to a different server of Bell.

因为是ROUTER分的IP啊，你是不是做服务器啊 要登陆到你的ROUTER看哪个IP地址才是真的地址
