任何人在进入另一个国家时都必须通过至少两关：移民局（中国大陆叫做边检）和海关；前者管人，后者管物。你下飞机后接待你的第一个官员就是移民局的，负责查你的护照和签证。

父母马上要探亲过来,在温哥华转机.看来要见移民官.但是他们不会英语,不知道会不会有麻烦,具体该怎么办,请各位帮忙给个意见,谢谢!

NOT exactly here in Canada, though:

At a port of entry into Canada, 接待你的第一个官员是海关官员 (NO 边检 in Canada), 负责查你的护照和签证. If the officer sees it as necessary, you will be sent to 移民局 for an interview or a few questions. The officer will also decide if you need to go through customs for an inspection of the things you bring into the country.

Those for landing or transit to another country usually are sent to 移民局 for interviews or questions.

Most探亲 visitors, 不需要进移民局, but some may be asked to.
