How is Parkdale area?

Hi, I am looking for a house for one of my friends in Parkdale area. Does anybody know if this area is good for a small family? (Basically just she and her two little daughters) She will visit Ottawa in March break, hopefully I can find some good houses for her at that time. I know this area is very close to downtown, are any schools good in that area (elementary, middle school)? Children’s education is her first priority. Thank you very much for your help.
