My baby girl is 15 months old now and she goes to corner when she does Number 2. Does this mean she is ready for potty training?
Anybody has any experience to share? when to starts?
Thanks a lot!
Looks like your daughter already show some sign that she is ready since she is aware of it and likes to go to quite corner when it's coming.
Like walking, talking, toileting is just another developmental task that children need to master. To make sure the timing right, look for some of potty-readiness signs of your child. For example:
1.Physical readiness. He stays dry for an hour or more at a strech at daytime or sometime wake up dry from nap. This is good sign for physical readiness for potty-learning.
2. Regularity. BM comes at fairly predictablely time, like first thing in the morning, right after breakfast or after each meal.
3. Increased aareness of the pertinent bodily functions. Such as having certain look, going to some private place to squat, or announcing it's coming (maybe not using words but having some behaviours you can tell)
4. Like being dry and clean. He wants you to change his diaper whenever it's dirty or wet.
You child may show other signs that you know he is ready. Following his lead will make potty-learning quite a pleasant experience. When you feel he is ready, you may want to bring him with you to buy a potty he likes!
