多伦多，嘎提诺和克斯顿的垃圾要倒在渥太华。距离卡纳塔近。

听到一个消息。多伦多的垃圾没有地方倒了。原来多伦多的垃圾要倒在美国的一个地方。美国已经不让倒了。渥太华还有地方，于是要倒在渥太华。而且要扩大渥太华的垃圾掩埋场。这个掩埋场，据说离卡纳塔和斯提次唯澳比较近。 垃圾掩埋场如果发生泄漏，会污染地下水。因为是未经处理的生活垃圾，估计也会有味道。很多同胞在卡纳塔住，应该关心一下这个。

我有些不明白是不是挖个一公里直径的大坑，然后往里面倒，那应该做钢筋混凝土防渗层吧？否则渗漏到地下水里面就惨了

垃圾处理方式应该有数种：
1，掩埋。
2，焚烧。
3，回收利用。

也许有一天，人们会用火箭把垃圾打到水星上去，那里离太阳太近，不适合人类居住。现在这样做，技术还不成熟，成本也太高。

NRC，有几个研究所正在联手搞垃圾焚烧处理后把有害的尘埃转化成无害的建筑材料。

"it's a no" said Walters (A manager of Waste Management of Canada Corp.)"A Big no"

...
But as Walters points out, Carp's landfill is not a municipal dump - like the city's Trail Road facility - but a privately-run dump...

The City's only municipal landfill is located at the Trail Waste Facility, off Moodie Drive, south of Fallowfield Road. The facility is also home to the leaf and yard waste composting facility. In 2004, the facility handled approximately 496 tonnes of hazardous waste and composted over 27,541 tonnes of leaf and yard material.
The facility is open to Ottawa residents and businesses for disposal of waste material. Please note, the Trail Waste Facility does not accept blue or black box recyclable materials.
