Hi All, I just had my 31st birthday. Though I don't have any wrinkles YET, taking care of the skin is surely one of my first priorities.

I would like to post my experience with all the creams I had. Hopefully it can help some else to make decision when the time comes.

I don't wear too much makeups. I spent most of my moneys in all kinds of moisturizer.

night creams

I am using Estee Lauder "Advanced Night Repare Protective Recovery Complex" and "Advanced Night Repare Eye Recovery Complex". I use those two twice a day, before the bed time and during the monring. They are pretty good. I won't say it brings hugh difference to my skin, since I only tried them for a month. Having a wonderful skin is a long time commitment. I certainly don't believe there's any cream can bring any instant magic. I will buy another two bottles when I finish those.

Hint: try to buy those in the duty free store. I got two of them at 120Can$. If you buy them in the store (the Bay, for example), it costs 90$+tax for each.

Dior HydrAction (deep hydration rich creme)

I use this as a night cream since it doesn't have SPF. I have a combination skin: the skins around the nose and between eyes are always pretty dry. This is a really rich creme. It helps with the dry skin, however, my face always looks really shining afterwards. Maybe some loose power will help to cover that.

I am always fond of the creme from Dior: it's easy to apply and absolves to the skin quickly. Personally, it's the best feeling among all the cremes I ever had.

I also bought this at the duty free store and it costs about 50+Can$.

Nivea Q10 Plus Wrinkle Control Night Creme

It is recommdated by a friend. She is almost the same age as me, with a wonderful skin. She told me she only uses Nivea. BTW, she is Eurpoean, has a much light skin tone than us.

This is pretty rich cream. The skin feels moistured after applying. This is my first time using wrinkle control product. I feel we have to use the wrinkle control creme before ther's any wrinkle pops out in the face.

I bought this in Costco and it only costs 28$+tax for 3 bottles. It's really worth the money.

Though I like the hydrAction from Dior, this is a much cheaper one and also does the job well. I will buy it again.

Shiseido eye soother anti-puffiness/dark circles

it's really light, and I don't see it remove any darkness and puffiness from my eyes. Therefore, I won't buy it again.

I also bought Shiseido night creme for dry skin. It's quite disappointing. The creme is not rich enough, a little bit too watery and it doesn't give you the same good feeling compring with the Dior and Nivea.

As a result, I might not buy any Shiseido products any more.

Clinique All About Eyes

this is another product saying it will "reduces puff and circles". The truth is it won't. This cream is better than the eye creme from Shiserdo, and it's not too expensive. Maybe it's a good choice for girls around 25+. I need some serious anti wrinkle products.

Elizabeth Arden Extreme Conditioning SPF15

this is my day creme for the winter. Ottawa Winter is so cold that you need some serious creme to help with the skin. (beside the creme, a ski mask is a pretty good choice for walking in -30 degree weather) I use it all winter long. It helps with the dry skin, not oily, and it has the SPF. I like the pump bottle. It keeps the creme from contamination. I will recommend this to everyone.

Estee Lauder DayWear Plus Multi protection creme SPF15

this is my day creme for the summer. I like the fresh, cumumber smell and it also helps with my dry skin. However, I found it's a little bit harder for the skin to absolve it. I already used two bottles and I will see if I can find a better one

Blistex complete moisture Lip Balm

if you try it, you will feel how moisture it can bring to your lips. It doesn't have color or taste, which I really like that. I always have four tubes handy: one in my jacket, one in my cosmetic bag, one in the washroom, and an extra one, just in case I finish any of those. This lip balm is really cheap too: only 2~3$ per tube.
As long as they sell this in the store, I will always buy it.

I also tried Burt's Bee lip balm, and I don't like it. The lips feel being waxed instead of being moistured. And it has mint taste, which I don't particularly like.

Another lip balm I tried is from body shop. It has strawberry taste and it brings a little bit color to your lips. But it makes my lips so dry that I can't use it at all.

Olay Quench body lotion

this is the best body lotion I ever had. It cures my super dry body skin (especially on my back) and it blends into skin really quick.

I surely will have it every winter, though it's a little pricy: a bit less than 10$ per bottle. I normally have shower twice per day and apply the lotion afterwards. The whole bottle might last 5-6 weeks.

There're another two body lotions which I really like: Jergen Ultra Care and Keri original lotion. They are not as experienc and good for spring, summer and fall.

other lessons learned in the past

for the hair cut, I have to go to Toronto, not only it's better, but it's much cheaper. I went to the hair salon in the Ottawa Downtown World Exchange Plaza and MeiMei. I had bad experience from both of them. Expecially the one in the World Exchange Plaza, I have to change to a second hair stylist after the first one finished my hair, because the hairdo was so terrible. Then right after that week, I went back to Toronto. I had a much nicer cut at half the price I paid at Ottawa.

some questions

Normally I don't use makeups. Well, maybe lip gloss and eye liner. My skin tone is a bit yellowish. I know I need some foundation to blend the skin color, but I really don't like the feeling that uses foundation to cover the whole face. I saw someone recommend Benefit Dandelion Powder. I think maybe I can direcly apply that after the day creme to replace the foundation. It will help my skin tone look a bit better. I like the subtle, more nature feeling. When I was looking at the online review of that product, it seems like the powder is great for light skin. If you have used this produce, would you please let me know the result? thanks!

I am also looking for some eye shadows. If you have some good experience with some product, please post it here. thank you!

Thanks for sharing,
but it would nicer if you could post some pictures of these products.
