My old XP always had some problems. So I deceided to install a new one. during the installation, the computer got some errors and stuck, basically error messge showed that some DLL file missing. Then I couldn't exit from the installation, had to turned the computer down. and after restart, it seemed that my old system is gone and new XP can't installed. What should I do to get my old system back or install a new one? Does that mean all my files gone? SOS..Thanks a million.

Try another installation disc.If error exist again, check your cd/dvd rom (reader)

The problem is: I had to get out my battaery and put it back to make the computer restart. After it restarts, it goes back to the installation and stuck there automatically. I tried to put different disc, it still hang there. How can I esit the installation, and restore my old one? Oh, please help, it's destroying my weekend. :(

Thank you very much. :thanks: :thanks:

Is it a laptop?
Was it a clean installation? or repair?
How far you go during the installation?
Did you formatted your hard drive?

Yes, it is a laptop. It is a clean installation. not repair. it is stuck on installing network. I didn't format my harddrive. Just installation based on existing Windows XP.

Any suggestion? Thank you very much.

Try this:
Put the winxp disc and boot the computer.
Select repair during installation.
If repair sucessfully and you can enter the os.
