Security Clearance: 一定要在加国待够5年吗？

最近有人拿到过政府部门的Contract,也要被他们做Security Clearance后,才最后拿到offer的吗？

如果在加没有待够5年，Security Clearance能通过吗？大家谁有过类似经历的，能告诉一下结果吗？

My wife experienced the same thing half year ago. She got a contract from the Gov't after security clearance, which took her over 2 months. When she was doing her security clearance(Enhanced reliability level), she had been in Canada for only 3 years. So should be fine with less than 5 years in Canada. Good luck!

I got a message said that they would take up to 2 weeks for the security clearance check. They did not mention the level of the check they will make... What is your idea then?

The level should be indicated in the job posting. Enhanced Reliability, Secret, Top Secret...

For the enhanced level, you can even get it done even you are not citizen.

Enhanced 很容易,只要没有犯罪记录就可得到. 很多co-op的visa留学生都轻易得到了.

enhanced reliability比较容易，如果你已经在加拿大住满5年，Security Department在加拿大调查就可以。如你在加拿大居住不满5年，你需要提供来加拿大前的无犯罪证明。申请security clearance和在加拿大的身份无关，我是在移民前通过审查的。但审查过程还是比较长的，应该至少在2个月以上。在enhanced reliability下面还有reliable这一security level,这个比较容易通过，2个星期左右也许可以。
