Security Clearance: 一定要在加国待够5年吗？

最近有人拿到过政府部门的Contract,也要被他们做Security Clearance后,才最后拿到offer的吗？

如果在加没有待够5年，Security Clearance能通过吗？大家谁有过类似经历的，能告诉一下结果吗？

You can get the security clearance if you haven't been Canada for 5 years. It depends on who will help you do this.

Not necessarily.

As long as you pass all the checks they have for the security clearance, it should be okay.
Then after you got your security clearance it is good for 10 years.

因为你移民的时候已经做过背景调查了,所以应该在5年只内不需要再做.
过了5年后,会对你近5年做背景调查

how they gonna check the record in China though? by comparing the immigration application or send someone back there to check it?
my company is trying to get 5 years and 10 years ones for me, but it is pain in S to trace back upto 10 years.

做调查的根本是两个不同的机构,调查的东东也不一样.
你不用在加拿大待5年,但是他们必须能查到你过去5年所在地的记录. 所以如果你的所在国和加拿大有协议,就没问题了.

This is correct, and I have asked the similar question to a person who works in CSIS before. CSIS is the department which is responsible for Security check.

This is correct, and I have asked the similar question to a person who works in CSIS before. CSIS is the department which is responsible for Security check.

Security Clearance 有几种,一般的联邦政府部门的工作,统一有PUBLIC SERVICE做,要求有5年可以查到的历史,不一定非要加拿大,差不多五年也行,但是要查到别国的话,会办得非常慢,要半年到一年. 有OFFER 在等着的话是来不及的.
CSIS,RCMP,DND 因为情况特殊, 这几个部门的CLEARANCE 有他们自己的安全部门来做,要求不一样.

Security Clearance 有三种,,统一有PUBLIC Works and Government Service Department (PWGSC) 做,不管你在任何联邦政府部门的工作. PWGSC will ask CSIS and RCMP to provide the report for your clearance.
