how does it dl up to 8MB
dsl cant go faster than 4MB..

adsl 1 is up to 8mb.
i have adsl 1 up to 12mb.

adsl2 and adsl2 are faster than 15mb.

in canada, we still currently have adsl 1. range from 800k to 6mb.

o what compnay offers 12mb? bell only goes up to 4mb

you are right, currently there is NO provider at 12mb.
12mb only means the max speed. Just like we can only get 4mb to 6mb on a 8mb model, and 50k on a 56k modem. I only get 1.5mb, because my distance to CO is too far, even though I am paying for 3mb.

in usa, northeast verison has some fiber network at 80mb charging only $35-$55 a month.

I have a few Alcatel Speed Touch Home DSL modems, the best modem for ADSL ever!
Well used products. It is working with 3web, Bell Sympatico, and any DSL provider in Canada, USA.
Download speed is up to 8MB.
