A pilot killed in a crash at the Carp Airport early Friday afternoon has been identified as 48-year-old Scott Manning of Toronto.
Manning was flying a Stinger -- the smallest jet in the world. It went down over the lunch hour, and burst into flames upon touching the ground.
Police say they don't know what caused the crash, but can confirm that Manning was scheduled to take part in this weekend's Ottawa Air Show.
Manning was a former CFL player, who played for the Montreal Alouettes and the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the 1980's.
