MASTER OF BASIC MEDICINE(SUCH AS IMMUNOLOGY, PATHOLOGY,ANATOMY AND CELL BIOLOGY。。。)

如果学PATHOLOGY(MASTER DEGREE)毕业后是象在国内一样从事病理诊断工作吗?

It really depends on so many factors. I believe that the most 2 important factors are: You are really interested in what you are doing, and you really have to put your efforts.

I have had the honor of knowing a famous Chinese professor working at UO. She has been a Canada Research Chair in her field for several years. She is so devoted to her career and has really set a good example for our Chinese people.

BTW, biotech is supposed to be the next new light since the dying-out of Hitech.

I suppose not but not sure if you are refering to Clinic Pathology here.

I believe that you need to go through Medical License Tests in order to 从事病理诊断工作 here in Canada.

You should be easily able to find this out through The Canadian Medical Association web site and/or related links.

I know several Chinese people who were Clinic Doctors back in China but somehow switched to be Ultrasound Technicians. The salary for ultrasound technician here is actually pretty good (though proportional to your years of work experience and expertise).

However, to become a specialist in Ultrasound, you still have to pass all the Medical Licence Tests and finish the residency here again.

I really don't know how determined you are to accomplish your Clinic Doctor dream here. One thing I know for sure is that the process is quite difficult, costly, and complicated.

If you don't need to concern much about your financial pressure, if your English (including professional) is fluent (especially oral, listening, and written English), and if you have already developed your clinic expertise in a field in China, give yourself a try to prepare those Licence Tests.

There is always hope when you have put your best efforts.

Have you ever considered taking some part-time courses at CU or UO to improve your GPAs or taking one more TOFEL to improve your score?

The reason you were turned down may be due to the intensity of competition. You really need to find where your weakness is and improve on it. Nobody else can do this kind of job except youeself.

Based on youe situation, turning to Master study in basical medicine may not be the best option for you. Have you considered taking an undergraduate study in Nursing (UO or Algonq.) or Optometry at U Waterloo?

Good luck!
