Stephen Leacock(old Kanata, Beaverbrook)这个学校怎样? 今年的排名是第五,好像很不错,实际情况又是怎样呢? 请有经验的妈妈们谈谈,先谢过了。

没有人知道这个学校吗?住在Kanata lake的小孩都应该上这所学校呀?

It only offers French immersion programs. Maybe more Chinese families choose regular English program schools. W. ERSKINE JOHNSTON or ROLAND MICHENER are two English program schools in Kanata lakes.

I see. That means any kid can go to a Fraench immersion school. I would like to send my kid to a Fraench immersion school instead of a a regular English school. It seams most of the GOOD school are French or French immersion. I knew some parents are going to send their kids to a private school, then I think we are paying lots of taxes, should we pay more for our kids education?

My husband did some research on this school. If I remember correctly, their French immersion is only at a later stage, so we are planning to let our child go to this school too.

Yup. I mean JK is all English, and only starting from SK is French. Well, I'm just in the stage of thinking about kindergarten.

My daughter is in this school since JK. Now she is in grade two. I am pretty happy with her progress.

Do you do anything special (in addition to school ) to improve her English and French? Like put her in after school English/French program?

I am thinking to put my girl in Early French Program (SK) but not sure how to help her with French.

Don't worry. Children are all genius of learning language. I had the same worry before since I don't know a bit French. But it seems that she donesn't need me at all. After G1, she can read G1 or 2 English book, and wrote her dairy using English, although there were some spelling errors. In her class, they all used French in G1, she seems understood it all. ( I volunteered a field trip with her class. all questions the teacher asked, she raised her hand, there was one question she was the only one answered in her class. Sorry, a little bit brag here...) My neighbour send her 3 children in this school, when I chose school for my daughter, I accepted her suggestion. She said English is too simple, and children in this age is perfect for language learning, it's a waste if only learn English. Anyway, just my opinion.
