The Medical Officer of Health is issuing a Heat Alert for July 13, 14, 15 and 16, 2006. A heat alert is automatically declared when Environment Canada forecasts a humidex of 36 or more for at least two consecutive days. Extreme heat can cause dehydration, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and even death.
