请问如何移除数字照片文件上叠加的日期。----生成缩略图时是没有日期的。No PS.

Thanks!

if it's in the corner of the picture, no way you erase it once it's taken.
PS is the only way and might not work well.

It is simple: cut that part.

Thank you!

Since the date does not appear in the thumnail, I gues it is stored somewhere in the JPG file saperately and added to the picture every time when we use it. It may not be stored as text. I wonder whether I can modify the JPG file in binary to remove the date part.
Any ideals on it?

What kind of application are you using to view pictures and generate thumnails? And what do you mean "every time when we use it" and where do you see the date was added, on screen or printed papers? And what is the format of your original picture? The most possible reason I can think about is the date is in the EXIF part of the picture, and the application you are using extracted the date and put it on the picture.

Thank you for your replay.

I took those pictures from a digital camera. It saves the pictures as jpg format. while I import these pictures from camera to computer or I view these pictures on computer on Windows XP with the thumnail feature in Windows Explore (files, folders,...), the small pictures do not have any dates. When I actually view these pictures with any software or print them, the dates are added. I do not know how the JEPG's format is and what the EXIF part is. Please give a little more detailed description if you have time. Thanks again!

From you what described, it is possible that your digital camera stores the thumbnail butit-in your JPEG pictures using EXIF. EXIF is extended information about the photo that can be embedded into jpeg files and can be read or ignored by viewer application. It is possible that the real picture has date but the built-in thumbnail doesn't have.

You can download the free Irfan Viewer from http://www.irfanview.com/ to check your pictures. Also I would suggest you to read the manual of your digital camera to check the default setting of printing date. Good luck!
