Would you like to share your working experience?
My name is Qian Guo. I am a student from McMaster University, who is doing a Masters program in Work and Society offered by Labour Studies Department. I am doing my research paper on, Work and Community: An Independent Labour Market within Chinatown, which aims to uncover the work dynamics inside Canadian Chinese communities and to document working conditions of Chinese immigrants.
All things listed below are valuable to this research:
1. How do you get a job? (networking, employment advertisements on-line or from paper…)
2. What requirements confine you to work for Chinese?
3. What is your special work story within Chinese communities?
4. If you have worked or are working for a Canadian organization, what is the difference from Chinese employers?
5. What is your comment toward your job, even the life in Canada? Are you satisfied?
….
All kinds of stories, working experiences and comments are of interest, and your sharing stories and working experience will be appreciated.
You can help me by posting your answer on the bulletin board. I will consider your posting as giving me permission to use your responses in my research.
