feature
The D100 is packed with exposure options and features to satisfy every type of photographer. Like Nikon's SLR film cameras, it offers 3D Matrix metering, which measures the light of the entire frame for optimal exposures. But if your shooting situation is more complex, you can adjust almost every image parameter--including resolution and compression settings, sharpening, tone, and hue--to precisely achieve the desired results.

White balance can be adjusted through Nikon's standard six presets, and those settings can be fine-tuned plus or minus 3 degrees to remove or add any extra color cast. Have an extra tricky lighting situation? The D100 offers both white-balance bracketing and manual white balance.

One of the best features of the D100 is that it accepts Nikon lenses onto its metal lens mount. While you'll want to stick with Nikon's D- and G-series lenses for optimal performance, many others can still be used with limited capabilities. The same goes for external flash units, or speedlights, but in both cases, check the manual carefully to assure proper compatibility and functionality. Numerous flash modes and flash bracketing are available, too.

You can mount a wide range of Nikon lenses on the D100. We tested it with an AF-S Nikkor 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5 GIF-ED.

Included accessories

The D100 fills out its list of options by offering you a choice of focus modes, not only with single-, continuous-servo, and manual focus, but also predictive focus tracking and focus area selection to keep those moving subjects in sight.

feature
The FinePix S2 Pro possesses all the features we expect from a high-quality digital SLR. For Nikon fans, the good news is that the S2 is not only built on an N80 body but functions like an N80, as well. For example, you'll benefit from the 3D Matrix metering and have your choice of many compatible Nikon lenses and external Speedlight flash units. (We tested with Nikon lenses and a Fuji-supplied Tamron lens.)

20246247_ACC_200.gif

Digitally, the S2 is pure Fujifilm, right down to its 6-megapixel Super CCD, which supports interpolated images up to 12 megapixels. The company supplements the sensor with a variety of settings to optimize any shooting situation. If you like to perform all adjustments in-camera, you can fiddle with many settings, from compression, sharpening, saturation, and tone to nine preset and two custom, manual white-balance settings. If you prefer the opposite, the S2 outputs a CCD-RAW format untouched by camera firmware. In custom settings mode, you can change the default behavior of advanced functions; for instance, you can specify which dials change aperture and shutter speed and the order in which exposure-bracketed shots occur.

20246247_M_200.gif

Though you can use both SmartMedia and CompactFlash, we suggest you stick with large CF or IBM Microdrives to handle the camera's 12-megapixel uncompressed images.

20246247_SS2_200.gif

The Custom Settings mode lets you determine how advanced features work.

This camera accepts both SmartMedia and CompactFlash cards, but we think you should opt for an IBM Microdrive to hold large images. Unfortunately, the camera can't automatically jump from one drive to another if a card fills up. For studio-friendly photography, you can tether the S2 to a computer via the included FireWire cable. During testing, we really appreciated the camera's sticky self-timer mode; many cameras make you reselect the mode before each shot.

A handy menu on the rear LCD provides a short description of each of the S2's 15 custom settings as you search. In review mode, this same bright LCD also provides a deep level of magnification to check images, as well as color bars and a histogram display. The S2 provides a 30-second voice memo, so you can record necessary information about your shots on the go.

CANON D60

feature

Its 6.3-megapixel resolution unquestionably tops the D60's feature list. The sensor is a CMOS chip, rather than the more common CCD, and its image area measures 22.7mm by 15.1mm--about 40 percent of the area of a 35mm film frame but roughly five times larger than the area of a typical 5-megapixel consumer digicam CCD. The bigger chip means bigger pixels, which allow higher ISO equivalents and produce much cleaner images with better dynamic range and less electronic noise.

Equally important, the D60 is part of Canon's extensive EOS camera system, meaning you can mount any of more than 50 interchangeable EOS lenses to it. Because of the size of the camera's sensor, any lens mounted to the D60 provides the angle of view that a lens of 1.6X or greater focal length gives on a 35mm film camera. Thus, Canon's widest-angle EOS lens, the 14mm, when used on the D60, gives the angle of view of a 22mm lens on 35mm film cameras.

Well-implemented exposure options and settings abound on the D60, including all four major exposure modes, five scene modes, shutter speeds from Bulb to 1/4,000 of a second, and automatic exposure bracketing. The six preset white-balance settings are easy to access, but we found the manual white-balance function, which requires you to designate a saved photo as your white-balance reference, to be needlessly complex for on-the-spot corrections. However, this system can be extremely useful under studio conditions.

The D60 can save images as JPEGs at six different resolution/compression combinations. All JPEGs are processed into the sRGB color space, a mild limitation compared to some competing cameras that offer a range of color-space choices. The camera will also save RAW files, but the software that Canon includes for converting RAW files to full-color photo images is fairly rudimentary, offering good white-balance adjustment but little else. Still, decent third-party RAW conversion applications are available for D60 files.

CANON,OLYMPAS,(NIKON,
SONY,KODAK.)
PRO90 IS.

Nikon coolpix 995 is also perfect one!

FT.Speechless.
