Corus Entertainment is pleased to announce today the launch of Canada’s first and only download service for children’s video ? Treehouse Direct is now live and open for business!
Treehouse Direct represents a new way for Corus to interact directly with consumers, providing parents and their kids with on-demand access to video downloads of their favourite Treehouse TV series. With hit Nelvana shows like Miss Spider’s Sunny Patch Friends, Max & Ruby, and Rolie Polie Olie, as well as shows from independent producers like 4 Square and This Is Daniel Cook, we expect Treehouse Direct to be a big hit with both kids and parents.
This new service enables customers, for a fee, to download Treehouse content onto a PC, load it onto any PlayForSure compatible portable device and watch it on tv (with Microsoft Windows Media Centre Edition). In the near future, users will also be able to download content directly from their mobile phones and burn video content onto DVD’s.
A cross-divisional initiative, Treehouse Direct received start-up financing from the Corus Innovation Fund and is the culmination of the efforts of hundreds of staff and many months of planning and execution. This new service is a great example of how we are strengthening our connection with our audiences on new platforms and playing a leadership role in providing our customers with great content whenever and wherever they want it.
In the months to come, as we further enhance this ground-breaking service with more program content and greater user options, we look forward to watching this brand extension become a great Corus success story.
