驾照要每年更新?

收到医疗部门的信,要求更新健康卡,但说要同时更新驾照,我的驾照去年办的,还没过期啊,要更新吗?

Driver license has to be renewed every 5 years. But there's an exception: If your old license will expire in a date (let say Date A), and you upgrade your licence (from G1 to G2 or from G2 to G) recently, you are still required to renew it before Data A, although your existing one is quite new.

In quebec, you have to pay the driver licence every year. I am not sure whether you need change the driver licence itself as well.
