Musical Celebrations
NACO: TD Canada Trust Young People's Concerts
October 7 - 7, 2006
Thanksgiving is just one of the special days where we use music to celebrate. Holidays, birthdays, graduations, sporting events and great victories are when we come together and share. From the Olympic Fanfare to Handel? Royal Fireworks Music, you?l want to jump up and shout!
SPECIAL GUEST: Juno Award-winning singer Kiran Ahluwalia will help us celebrate Diwali ?the Festival of Lights and most popular festival in India during the month of October.
An orchestra is just like a family. Each individual has something special to offer, but the magic happens when everyone comes together.
Each one of the four TD Canada Trust Young People? Concerts will take you inside the music; how it? put together, and how it lights up the lives of young and old alike. Every concert will highlight one section of the orchestra ?strings, winds, brass and percussion. And starting 45 minutes before each performance, the lobbies are abuzz with hands-on fun, from an "instrument petting zoo" to activities guaranteed to fire up young imaginations. The giant onstage NACOtron screen brings everyone inside the action. This is quality time the whole family can share!
The Pre-Concert Activities for this opening concert of the season will include a display and activities with volunteers from the Ottawa Food Bank. Concertgoers are invited to bring a donation of non-perishable food or cash to the Foyer for collection.
