Job Search Workshops:
As part of the Local Agencies Serving Immigrants (LASI) consortium, JFS offers job search workshops through the World Skills Employment program. These 3-day workshops are offered at JFS once a month, and there is no charge to attend. The only eligibility requirement is that the participant be a newcomer to Canada (5 years or less, landed immigrant, or convention refugee).

The workshop provides comprehensive job search training that is designed specifically for newcomers.

Topics include:

Techniques for contacting employers Sources of job leads
Understanding worker's rights
Successful interview techniques
Effective resume and cover letter writing techniques

我是与楼主同班参加的，这是个很好的Job search workshop, 我们一起的9个学员结束时，都很满意，认为很有收获。强力推荐没有参加过类似培训的，正在找工作的人参加。

Mr.Taylor 是很有经验的讲学人，他对每个问题(找工作方面的，加拿大生活方面的，甚至小孩教育的问题)都有经典周全的回答，对初来加的人很有帮助，他热情，讲课也风趣热，passionate，很难得。

他课的主线是说明在职场上，那些技能是重要的，帮助你整理与发现自己的长处，做找工作的准备。课上告诉也发给很多资料。
