看了Minto 在Chapman mills建的房子, 感觉还不错, 那个地区好吗?

LRT wouldn't go there anymore. The price may take a hit. So wait and see.

For me, I like here. Both living or shopping are nice.

City Council approves revised North-South Light Rail project

December 5 to 7, 2006
City Council approves revised North-South Light Rail project
City Council has approved a new plan for the North-South Light Rail Transit project, with electric Light Rail train service running from LeBreton Flats to Barrhaven Town Centre. The planned downtown portion of the project east of LeBreton Flats to the University of Ottawa will not proceed at this time.

Instead, Council has requested that the City undertake an in-depth study of a tunnel option for the downtown core, along with upgrades to streetscaping on Albert and Slater streets. The Environmental Assessment study is expected to take two to four years and will provide opportunities for residents and businesses to review the new plans and provide input.

Under the new North-South Light Rail Transit project plan, a major transfer station will be built at LeBreton Flats, providing a connection point for both light rail and bus commuters. Frequent bus service will run from LeBreton station through the downtown core along Albert and Slater streets. The revised plan upholds the original commitment to construct the Strandherd-Armstrong bridge.

Monies saved from the modified scope of the project will be redirected to advance other transit priorities, serving residents in the East and West. This includes:

The Cumberland Transitway to Blackburn Hamlet (East)
The West Transitway from Bayshore to Moodie (West)
Extending Bus Rapid Transit service along Innes Road to Blair Road, connecting to Blair Station, with the objective of continuing to Downtown.
A report on these activities will be brought to Committee and Council in early 2007.

Construction on the revised North-South Light Rail Transit project will start in early 2007. The new North-South line is expected to be ready for passengers in 2010.

LRT is a go for BAR. Chapman mills should be good.

You are right

Definitely the LRT will benefit residents in Barrhaven. In addition, the market in Barrhaven could be good as RCMP will move to Barrhaven in 2007 and 2008.

O'Brien Withdraws Support for Barrhaven to LeBreton Flats Line
Wednesday, December 13, 2006

Mayor Larry O'Brien is ready to derail the new Barrhaven to LeBreton Flats O-Train route.

In a hastily called media conference, O'Brien announced he is withdrawing his support for the new north-south Light Rail Transit line approved by Council last week.

The move comes after the Federal and Provincial Governments told the City of Ottawa it will miss Friday's deadline to commit funding to the O-Train project.

O'Brien told reporters that without the funding agreement, that leaves the City of Ottawa signing a contract without knowing if the government cash will come through.

O'Brien said "I can't support risking taxpayers money." The Mayor added "I personally do not believe" it would be a prudent course of action to proceed without government funding commitments.

While O'Brien is ready to crash the project, Council could also go ahead with the scaled down route from Barrhaven to LeBreton Flats or build the original line from the University of Ottawa to Barrhaven.

Treasury Board President John Baird told CFRA News the Federal commitment of 200 million dollars for transit infrastructure is on the table.

But Baird says a number of weeks or months is required for Federal officials to review the financial contribution agreement to the City of Ottawa.

Last Wednesday, the newly elected city council approved the scaled down O-Train line from Barrhaven to LeBreton Flats. Council decided to scrap the downtown portion of the line while City Staff reviewed a tunnel option for the O-Train.

实际上LRT对现在Minto建的那个区,未必是好事情,因为LRT太靠近这个区了, 5分钟一趟,一直到深夜,可以无法开窗

可能有影响.
