CHRISTMAS LIGHTS ACROSS CANADA
Every December, Canada's Capital glows with the spirit of the holidays as more than 250,000 dazzling Christmas lights illuminate over 60 landmarks along Confederation Boulevard. The Parliament Buildings, Major's Hill Park, Confederation Park, museums, embassies and other prominent landmarks provide the perfect backdrop for a jewelled band of lights illuminating the Capital. Specially lit topiary sculptures in animal shapes decorated with festive lights will be on display at different sites along Confederation Boulevard.
Official Lighting Ceremony
Join in as thousands of Canadians gather on Parliament Hill for the official lighting ceremony. The official illumination ceremony, on Parliament Hill, is usually presided over by the Governor General of Canada and other Canadian dignitaries and features Canadian performing artists.
