(Urgent) First blood test and medical check for Mom to be

Hi JMs,

I was happy to know that I got pregnant after having test in Appletree Medical Centre last week. The doctor gave me a blood test form and asked me to do the test after two weeks. But there isn't any laborotory name on the form, he even didn't write my name on the form. I called Appletree this morning, and they said I can just go any of the laboratory for test, and the result will go directly to the doctor.

So my questions are:
1)Where can I find blood test laboratory list?
2)When will the doctor assign me to a maternity doctor, after he got the blood test result?
3)Who(the family doctor or the maternity doctor?) and when will do first complete pregnancy check for me?

I know the questions may seem silly, actually I just wanna know the process after pregnancy. Could any of you give me some your experiences? Thanks a lot.

1)go to www.gamma-dynacare.ca, find the closest location for you;

2)Not quite sure why the doctor needs a blood test so early(maybe just for pregnancy confirmation). Anyway, after that, call him to ask when to refer you to an OB (the maternity doctor);

3)My family doctor took care of me before week 20, then referred me to my OB. However, this practice may not be true for all. Some doctors refer you immediately after the pregnancy test, and then you will be followed up by the OB.

Don't worry, all you need is to ask the doctor as many question as you want. Make sure you understand what to expect next step.
