they were marking down a whack of PS2, PSP, GBA, Xbox, Xbox 360 games to $1.44 and up. Most of them are $4.98 or $9.98.

for example:
Fight Night Round 3 for 9.98
Spartan Total Warrior 9.98
Winning Eleven 9 Soccer 4.98
Resident Evil Outbreak File 2 4.98

There is a looooog list of marked down games, and a tonne of xbox games are on for 4.98

As per their shareholder statement:
"As part of the Company’s regular review of its ability to recover the carrying value of inventory by selling inventory
through normal channels, management identified certain excess inventory, primarily general merchandise. During the
third quarter of 2006, the Company concluded that the carrying value of this inventory should be reduced to reflect its
best estimate of the net realizable amount."

Seems like they are liquidating their excess inventory, getting ready for 2007.
