[问题] 新生婴儿怎样才能尽快带回国

我的女儿四月底出生，我准备七八月份带全家回中国住一段时间。听说从婴儿的Birth Certificate到护照准备齐全要大半年。向有经验的朋友请教怎样才能做到尽快带走孩子。我一家三口（不含未出生婴儿）目前都未入籍，持中国护照和枫叶卡。

你们需要在女儿出生后立刻申请出生证。然后去City of Ottawa申请一封Travel Letter （$28)，证明你们已经申请了出生证但还在审理中。然后拿着这封travel letter去护照办公室办理护照。一般他们都要求有机票或者hotel reservation，或者详细的itinerary，这样才可以办理护照。但是据说现在的护照也要很长时间，可以打个电话去咨询一下。

现在只需几天就可以办下来出生证，倒是办护照需要的时间比较长，现在太多人等着办护照了，详细的等待时间可以到政府的网站查查。

Only a few days? I don't think so, took us a full 5 months to get the birth certificate. Still waiting for the SIN number.

It takes between 5-6 months to register the birth, 10 working days to get the actual certificate, according to the Registrar General.
