Full-time Operation Manager - Food Industry
Bento Nouveau (www.bentonouveau.com) is the largest sushi company in Canada, serving more than 6 million servings of sushi per year, employing in excess of 500 highly-trained team members. The company creates, prepares and distributes delicious and nutritious ready-to-eat sushi.
Bento Nouveau’s Ottawa and Gatineau regions operate more than 27 on-site sushi stations in major supermarkets across Ottawa, Gatineau, and Kingston. As Bento Nouveau Ottawa and Gatineau continues to grow, we are looking for a highly-motivated Operation Manager to manage our sushi production at all sushi stations in Ottawa's supermarkets.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Reports directly to the regional General Manager in Ottawa and Gatineau
- Manage all sushi stations located in the supermarkets within Ottawa, including weekly site visit
- Control inventory for sushi production
- Coordinate all labor production hours and food materials for sushi production per each sushi station
- Work to resolve on-site station issues at store level
- Place order for supply material
- Ensure safe food production practices based on Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulatory requirements
- Monitor, detect and control hazards before sushi products are distributed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have a diploma of “Hospitality Management in Hotel and Restaurant”
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential ? English, Chinese and French
- Food handler certification ? must have a strong understanding of proper sanitation and safety procedures to produce safe food products
- Good knowledge of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulatory requirements developed by Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA)
- Must be able to travel within the city extensively and regularly
- Must have good driving record
- Ability to communicate to staff internally and customers externally ? ability to explain information
- Minimum 1 year of experience in food industry
- Minimum 1 year experience in Management position (Store Manager, Food Specialist, Operation Manager, etc)
- Must have proven leadership skills and experience managing people
- Must have extensive attention to detail
- Strong goal setting, decision making, problem solving and organizational skills
- Commitment and flexibility to meet changing priority
