Family member(mom) is visiting canada now, but we plan to apply a US visa for her so we can travel to US. I see online, they said we should bring documents showing my family member having tie with China, such as employment letter, or anything.

Since my mom here and she is retired, so what do you think which documents are good and we can bring to the US officer. Anyone has some experience?

Thx.

My mother and I applied US visa together last year, we did bring the proof of her retirement income and real estate and my birth certificate, but the officer did not ask for any of them and she got the visa. The only question she asked was "tell me about your travel plan".Hope it helps and good luck!

楼上真幸运. 现在签证是不是更难了不知道, 反正是连个面试约会都排不上. 有谁知道可以如何排上个面试机会的吗?

My experience:

My mom got her U.S. visa very easily when she was a visitor here. The only question that the visa officer asked was "how long are you going to stay in the U.S.?". The only documents that we were asked to show was my PR card and my pay stubs (note here: my PR card and so on, not my mother's documents).
So you better prepare your relevant documents to support your mom's visa application, say, your or your spouse's PR/citizenship card, employment statement/pay stubs, bank statement, etc.
Good luck.

thanks for all replies

thanks everyone for taking the time to reply. I will prepare related docs.

anohter question

forgot to ask: "Evidence to show the purpose of the trip?"

Do I need to bring sth to prove that?

Many thx
